NVIDIA on Oct. 21, 2026 said it is expanding its Isaac open robotics platform with a reference humanoid, new datasets, a runtime framework and updates to its robot-learning stack, a move it said is intended to shorten the path from simulation to real-world deployment for general-purpose robots.

    Evidence and context

At GTC Berlin, NVIDIA said the expanded Isaac platform now includes Isaac OS, Isaac Lab 3.0, new simulation assets and open reference workflows built around DGX Station. The company said these additions are designed to give developers an integrated path from data generation to training, evaluation and deployment. NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang said, according to the company’s Oct. 21 announcement, that “general-purpose robotics is advancing at extraordinary speed” and that “the ChatGPT moment for robotics is fast approaching.”

The announcement also highlighted Agile Robots’ Agile ONE SN, a humanoid reference platform built on NVIDIA Isaac GR00T and Jetson Thor, with planned integration of NVIDIA’s Halos safety stack. NVIDIA said Agile ONE SN is scheduled to be available in early 2027. The company said the platform is intended to help researchers and developers unify simulation, training and deployment workflows on a single system.

According to NVIDIA’s Oct. 21 material, Agile ONE SN is configured around an Agile ONE S humanoid body standing 1.40 meters tall and weighing 40 kilograms, with 31 degrees of freedom and a 3-kilogram payload per arm. NVIDIA said the robot uses dual WUJI Hand 2 five-finger hands, each with 20 degrees of freedom, 1kHz force control and tactile sensing. It also includes head and wrist cameras, lidar sensors and inertial measurement units. The onboard Jetson Thor system is described as delivering 2,070 FP4 teraflops of compute and 128GB of unified memory.

NVIDIA said Isaac GR00T in the platform combines a foundation model with workflows for data capture, deployment and whole-body control. The company also said Isaac Lab 3.0 is now generally available as an open source learning framework, and that Isaac OS is an open source runtime framework built on Holoscan for deterministic real-time performance from simulation to physical robots.

The announcement further listed SimReady Central Library with more than 2,000 simulation-ready robotics and factory assets, along with the Human 1M Dataset, which NVIDIA said includes diverse human activities, synchronized three-view video and 3D hand tracking. NVIDIA said these resources are available on Hugging Face, with the full Human 1M Dataset accessible to Cosmos Coalition partners.

NVIDIA also cited broader industry activity across Europe’s robotics sector, naming ABB Robotics, KUKA, Sereact, Universal Robots, Humanoid, Hexagon Robotics, NEURA Robotics and others among companies building on its open robotics stack. The company said some partners are integrating Halos into their safety architectures, while others are using Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Omniverse libraries, Jetson and Cosmos-based workflows for simulation, synthetic data and manipulation development.

The material does not provide sales figures, product pricing or adoption volumes for the new humanoid platform or the newly announced software tools. It also does not specify a release date for Isaac OS beyond the announcement itself, while availability for Agile ONE SN was stated as early 2027.
